Remember... (Part 2 of Goodbye ATWT)
Today is the fourth to last episode FOR ALL TIME of "As The World Turns", and it's all about Carly and Jack.
Now for the truth, Dear Readers, the unvarnished, gods-honest truth.
I have never liked CarJack much. I like both characters. I've loved them with other partners, but I have never loved Carly and Jack as much as every other ATWT fan. I've also never been able to pinpoint my reasons other than for the last seven years they've just bored me. Although, I did like the Montana wedding, but I think only liked that so much because Mike and Katie were there (and falling for each other).
I will give the show and the creator of Carly Tenney this. She was and is extremely well-written. I was a big ole Rosanna fan (HUGE) but only original recipe. I have never really accepted Cady McClain as Rosanna even though I do like Cady McClain a lot, she just wasn't Yvonne Perry. By the way, if you were never lucky enough to see Yvonne Perry's Rosanna, you missed out. She was awesome in every way possible, and then Maura West came to town and she was so totally eclipsed. I remember the bereft feeling on her last airdate when she said good-bye to Carly and made the vow about the money. I think I'm remembering that correctly.
Alas, my poor memory.
But, if I remember the timing right, Carly came in to fill the void that Julie left, and, readers, you do NOT want to get me started about Julie. ARGH. I still get irritated just thinking about the havoc she wreaked on Holden, Lily, Iva, Andy, Courtney...especially Courtney but I digress. Anyway, Carly came to town, and Oakdale has never been the same. I have always been surprised that Maura West stayed on the show as long as she did. She always seemed destined for bigger things. Now that she's been cast on "Young and the Restless", she probably will be noticed by more.
I have always liked Jack Snyder because who doesn't like Jack Snyder. I mean, come on, it's a damn honorable character. I've loved the other pairings they've tried. Actually, I LOVED Jack and Katie (ducking from the rocks being thrown). It was just such a bummer that the outcry from the deveoted CarJack fans put the kibosh on it so soon. I thought the same about Holden and Carly too. They could have gotten years out of quadrangles like that. I just always thought it was a shame.
So there you have it, posted on the internet for all to see. I very, rarely, ever tell fellow #ATWT fans that I'm not a CarJack fan because I'm telling you...the reaction is never good, but, since the show is ending, I guess it's okay to put it out there.
Unless the CarJackers read this and decide to hunt me down and shoot me through the heart.
