thanks-fulness or whatever...

A listing of thankfulness (cribbed from Twitter mostly):

 1.  I'm thankful for Prince. 1999 is a damn good song.
2.  I am thankful for bananas.  Potassium, Bitches.
3.  I am thankful for the Heartbreakers because Tom Petty couldn't have done it alone.
4.  I am thankful for punctuation. Exclamation mark.
5.  I'm thankful for Tumblr.  For reals. 
6.  I'm truly thankful for erotica. You know, for personal *cough* wanking *cough* reasons.
7.  I am thankful for Ryan Murphy because his shit is WHACK, and I love it.
8.  I am enormously grateful my four stepsisters won't be joining us for dinner tomorrow.  

These are not from Twitter because I was tweeting too much last night and felt guilty.
Yes, I feel guilty for tweeting too much. Shut up. 

9.  I am thankful for Kleenex because I sneeze a fucking lot. Like always, man. 
10.  I could list for three months how much gratitude I have that "Mad Men" exist. I love it that much
11.  I think the entire universe should be thankful to Richard Curtis for creating the most perfect film ever made... "Love Actually". 
12.  And we should also thank HBO for showing it at least twice every day on one of their seven channels. Hell, I've watched it on HBO Latino even, and I don't speak Spanish. 
13.  I'm totally grateful for all these book review blogs I follow because I had no idea what I was missing out on (self-published books, leprechaun erotica, m/f/m menage erotica, rock star erotica...*cough*)  until them.
14.  Why are all these entries getting longer and longer? I should be thankful for my fast typing fingers at this point. 
15.  My mom 
16.  My dad 
17.  My aunt (even if she's a pain in my ass) 
18.  My friends (some of them at least)
19.  Spotify because, seriously, SPOTIFY. 

And finally..

20.  I am very thankful to still have my sense of humor because being sick and miserable for such a long time can destroy even the cheeriest of folks, and I'm not all that cheery on my good days.

Things I Would Do To A 500 lb. Cheesecake

Tomorrow night at the White House Staff Inaugural Ball lucky attendees get to eat a 500 lb. cheesecake. Here are details. 500 lb Cheesecake from Eli's I am consumed with just the thought of 500 lbs of creaminess. and once again...

It's been awhile so I have more TV thoughts to expound upon because as well know...TV is what I do best. In no particular order: 1. Dear 30 Rock...I know it's fun to mock Liz Lemon but this season it's getting out of hand. I am, possibly, internalizing it too much, but when loyal, lovable Floyd calls Liz Lemon a badger I think you've gone too far. 2. Additionally 30 Rock, I'm not laughing as much as I used to. Don't get me wrong. I still laugh-specifically last week when you made the pranksters get naked and they were all screaming like girls, but I'm not rolling around in hysterics over every single of minute like I used to. That makes me sad. I depended on 30 Rock for the absurdist, surreal and just flat out manic laughs that it delivered Seasons 1 through 3. 3. I know some BSG fans don't like Caprica. You know you're alone on a Sunday afternoon... (randomish again)

... when you realize just how loudly you're singing along to a Bob Dylan song.  Essentially it's when your voice is reverberating off the ceiling in the dining room and because you're so freaking tone deaf it hurts your own ears. ...when you make strawberry-basil ice cubes to for a strawberry-basil cocktail that was in Saturday's Wall Street Journal.  I mean, I even made simple syrup.  Yikes. ...when you spend about two hours searching bread pudding recipes, you make the bread pudding, and then proceed to eat half of the pan before you realize just how many eggs and how much cream you put in this goddamn bread pudding.  So worth it though.  Did I mention I took photos too?
